Summer '10: Part 1

The past few weeks have been really fun and exciting! The kick off of my super summer was Alicia's birthday party, on June 12. It was the celebration of her sweet 16 (her birthday was the 10th) and she was excited because she got her license and that old white truck, Adam* (not pictured here.)Lots of people came to her party, and lots of people got very wet. Some of these people were: Brad (her not-really-sort-of-technically-not-but-really-is-her-boyfriend); Dustin (our super awesome ninja friend)- also, this picture is from after he got wet, during the period of time in which he tried to catch fruit (strawberries)with his face-; Sam K, Amanda, Dana, Casey (Alicia's little sister), Miles, and (not pictured here) Megan "Mommy" Bierly, Connor "Rachael's Little Brother" Beck, and Rachael "Raynbow" Beck; and lastly, the birthday princess herself: Alicia Bodmer Brad soaked a large number of people- about twelve- who really really didn't want to get wet, so they talked Alicia into assisting their plan, which was carried out without a hitch: After our water fight, we had cake. Alicia had some assistance with blowing out her candles from our old neighbour, Taren. In addition to blowing out candles, Taren is good at modeling and giving hugs. Presents came after cake. Many were sweet and thoughtful, and the rest were sweet and thoughtful and had a story behind them. We ended the night around a fire, those of us whom had been friends for years reminiscing about the good ol' days (two or three years ago). *Adam has belonged to her family for many years, but was only recently christened Adam. It was named Adam as a nod to Adam Young: musician, photographer, and dreamer. You may know him from beautiful things that are referred to as Owl City, Insect Airport, Seagull Orchestra, Port Blue, Windsdor Airlift, Sky Sailing, and he is the Producer of Swimming With Dolphins.
